Would the 20D or D1MkII have greater tolerances i.e. wider range algorithms in the camera?
Not noticeably... I'd almost say that there would be no difference at all between the 350D and 20D, but don't own both (let alone either) so I can't say for sure. In theory, the 1DmkII should have slightly more DR due to its larger photosites, but I can't remember anything from the reviews to make a positive statement on this.

my case was recieved Dec 07. (H1B extension)
The website says they're processing Dec 21
However checking my case status, it still says received and pending
How come?
The processing times are just a rough estimate. Most of the times H4 extensions are approved along with H1 extensions. There is a 1 month difference between these two. I think it might got to do some thing it as well. Call USCIS and ask them. There might not be a better response but sometimes you get lucky and talk to a Immigration officer.

Hi EveryOne,
I got my Green card in mail yesterday. I want to thank IV and everyone for all the support during this GC journey. I wish everyone all the best for their green card process. I wish everyone gets to file 485 irrespective of priority dates and ultimately get their green cards. This is a question to Admin, i have a recursive donation going on, I would like to make a one time donation and stop the recursive donation.

Just curious to know your opinion / experience regarding the current job opportunities in India (near DELHI / NCR) for IT guys. What realistic salary/benefits should someone expect with graduate degree (masters) from US and 8 years of working experience as Programmer Analyst/ Developer / Sr Developer in desi/vedesi mid-sized consulting companies in US? I have no clue, no rough idea, so I thought may be I should ask you guys.

Based on current estimates, it will be 10-15 years time, unless u r son/daughter can sponsor you prior... u will end up in family quota wait still.

I don't get what caused the sudden spike in the Master's quota. Earlier it used to be open for at least 15 days... Can it be because of increase in number of international students or people loosing in previous year lotteries going for Masters??? I seriously believe that H1B visa program needs reform - a valid job offer (read project for consultancies) must be necessary for applying AND a joining date within 2 months of starting FY. This is true madness going on.

Thanks for your reply. As I am applying for LC with Software Engineer, and my Masters is in Mech Engg, I have asked my employer to put "Computer Science, Engineering (Any), Math or Related" in the majors required for the position.

I called uscis and they have asked me to refile I-765. They said they will issue new EAD with extended dates. Not sure how long will it take. And i dont believe issuing 3 month EAD was intentional. They probbaly wont have any idea when the 485 would be adjudicated when they approve EAD.

Now the VB is on 2006.
They must have known atleast a month back.
They issued just 3 months extension

BimmerFan, my wife is planning to apply for the med school and mostly the hospitals tend to apply for J visa instead of H1-B. Of course my preference is to get H1-B for her to avoid the J1 waiver process and who knows how tough their policy might turn out to be once you apply.

Gurus, your inputs please: Can I take up a position in India with an American Firm while on H1B?
2 things:
1. Yes, you can be an expat, meaning you can still work elsewhere (any branch) in the world while your payroll is still run in US(using H1B for the same company in US) and taxes are paid in US.
2. Having a H1B does not restrict you to work only in US. You can work elsewhere in the world while your H1B is still valid unless the company revokes it for some reason.

well i got marriage church, but we didn't got are license yet, because my husband have some problem in court.( he is a citzen) We'll know if he will go to jail or not in march 31.

since we don't know if he will or not. I need to know if i can start my paper with the immigration?
because if he goes to jail.. how we will do the interview if he is not here to go?

Thanks for the link. My lawyer didn't explain clearly why he filed in Texas. This document says even though direct filing is effective July 30th you can still file to the appropriate service center. I reside in GA and so TSC is the right one. Thanks again.

For example, for my I-140 under EB2-NIW, NSC processing date shows February 27, 2007; and I filed in April 2007. But, I got approved. (no complaints). Technically, they shouldn't have picked up mine.
You are lucky to have your 140 approved :) There are many people that I know, whos files are still waiting to be dusted.
See, quasi-citizens i.e., people applying for Naturalization have better luck because their local congressman will be making calls and putting fire under USCIS ass because these are potential voters in November. So, they have some leverage. But people who are waiting for green card are no good now... wait for 5 years after you get it, you may have luck in getting their attention.
Focus your energy on IV activites (state chapter, campaign and etc), spend time with the family, and live your day to day life. We will get there soon enough with everyones' support ($$$$)

This is a weak president making rhetorics which never pan out. He knows his time has come to step out and this is only an attempt to use his left over strength. Honestly the president no longer enjoys support of his own party members and this is only rhetoric. There is just not enough time to move this through senate, house and then agree on it all.
